Granada - Southern Spain
Granada is easily reached from the coast by motorway and should not be missed. It is a beautiful city drenched in history. There is a saying in Spanish 'Quien no ha visitado Granada, no ha visitado nada' (The person who has not visited Granada has seen nothing).
The highlight in a visit to Granada is the Alhambra Palace, which is one of the most beautiful monuments in Europe, if not the most. It is often referred to as the eighth wonder of the world. Constructed on a low hill between 2 rivers with the backdrop being the Sierra Nevada.
It was the palace of the last Muslim Kingdom and shows off Moorish architecture and art at its peak. (Tickets should be booked in advance) There are of course many other things to do and see in Granada, from the Albaicin, an old Moorish ghetto, to the Renaissance Cathedral in the City.
Granada Club de Golf
The course is very near Granada and offers excellent views of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It is not very hilly so it is not very difficult either.
The 15th hole is tricky because the fairway narrows and there is water on the right-hand side. The green is tiered and the pin position can be tricky.
The 17th hole has a very difficult tee because you have a dogleg to the left and there is an out-of-bounds all along the left-hand side of the fairway. It also has three lakes.
